About
Lindsay Davies is the National Farmer Training Networks Manager. Her work involves supporting and strengthening two national networks: NIFTI (National Incubator Farm Training Initiative) and AgALN (Agriculture Apprentice Learning Network). She believes farming is one of the most important and difficult jobs in the world and is excited to help assist these networks in supporting farmers around the country.
Lindsay has several years of hands-on agricultural experience. She first learned to grow her own food while working as a garden intern with a local food pantry, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, while attending Indiana University. After college she wanted an immersive growing experience and worked as a farm apprentice at the magical Community Supported Garden of Genesis Farm in New Jersey. While completing her Master’s in Horticulture at University of Georgia, she was able to learn about the science involved in agriculture. Her thesis research focused on methods to control squash bugs organically.
Lindsay has also worked to strengthen local food systems and coordinate trainings for new farmers. She served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with University of Georgia’s student farm, UGArden, helping to teach and lead student volunteers and interns while distributing produce to the community. She most recently worked with University of Georgia Extension to coordinate the Journeyman Farmer Certificate Program.
