Complete Distillation of Ethanol by Solar Concentrating Method

Summary

WORK ACTIVITIES
We have purchased the needed materials for construction of the solar concentrator, including the 15’ diameter Scientific Atlanta parabolic dish along with enough 12” x 12” mirror to cover the entire surface of the parabola.

Along with these materials, rebar and other machined parts that will be needed to mount the parabola and substructure in the ground in concrete, have been purchased.

We also have some of the electronic equipment to power this unit to track the sun at this time, but more will be needed to finalize the tracking system.

We have the equipment lined up for the digging and setting concrete around the rebar frames in the ground.

WORK PLAN FOR 2009
Our work plans will be actual setting of the piers in the ground for support of the heavy parabola structure, putting together the entire structure, mounting the mirrors and tracking system. Also mounting the distillery out in front of the mirrored parabola.

OUTREACH
We have a family orchard that is on site and many people are familiar with my projects of Ethanol from Waste Fruit, so their coming to the orchard and sales building is an excellent opportunity to talk to them about it.

Also I have given a talk to the Truman University students in the Ag Entrepreneurial class about our projects as well as this one.
