Model Farm Youth Roadmap

The Model Farm Youth Roadmap is a practical implementation guide developed from lessons learned through the project. It provides farmers, educators, and community organizations with a simple framework for engaging high school students in sustainable agriculture while connecting production to business and career readiness. The roadmap begins with market research and planning so students first consider customers, community needs, product demand, and potential markets before making production decisions. It then guides users through site preparation, crop production and maintenance, harvesting and marketing, and reflection and next steps. The roadmap also highlights key lessons from the project, including the importance of student ownership, volunteer engagement, community partnerships, hands on learning, and connecting agricultural activities to real world business and market opportunities.
