    Proposal summary:

Organic vine crops—in this case, mostly pumpkins—will be grown using cover within rows and plastic mulches between to test the impact of these mulches on labor, plant vigor, soil quality, and crop. The farmer will test buckwheat, sweet clover, and red clover, with clear cultivation as a control, and compare his results. An economic analysis will round out the picture.
