There are a few different roles that your team can have on a project:

- Associate
- Cooperator
- Participant
Coordinators
Also known as:
- Project Leader
- Project Coordinator
- Principal Investigator
- State Coordinator
- Faculty Advisor
- Major Professor
- Grad Student
Project Coordinators are responsible for project management and reporting. Their names and contact information are visible in the public report. Demographics data (race, sex and ethnicity) are optional and not visible in the public report. They must create an account in the GMS.
Associates
Project associates have full report editing and submission permissions. Their names and contact data are not visible in the public report. Demographic data is not collected. They must create an account in the GMS.
Cooperators
Project cooperators are people who play a significant role in conducting project research or educational activities. Their names and addresses are visible in the public report, but their email addresses and phone numbers are not visible in the public report. Demographic data is not collected. Do not include the Project Coordinator.
Participants
Participants are individuals who participate in or otherwise benefit from project educational or research activities. Names and contact information are not visible in the public report. Demographics data is not collected. Do not include Project Coordinators or Project Cooperators.
