Description:
Dalmatian toadflax, Linaria dalmatica, is an invasive perennial plant brought from the Mediterranean region as an ornamental for gardens, a fabric dye and for medicinal purposes in the late 1800s. In this video we will discuss this invasive weed, control methods, and the current best classical biological control agent for use against dalmatian toadflax, Mecinus janthiniformis, the dalmatian toadflax stem boring weevil. Topics will include identification, collection, sorting, release and what to expect from biological control.
