Description:
Join us for a fun fall tour of Bellfound Farm and a facilitated women’s workshop on healthy soil, healthy plants, and healthy people! Registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/healthy-soil-healthy-plants-healthy-people-tickets-77961507969 This workshop is designed for women involved in growing food and working in community to access tools to take your projects to the next level and deepen collaborations. Many women in Indianapolis are leaders of organizations, projects, and activities that use growing food as a vehicle for broader community impact and education. Our goal is that you will gain insights for production in an ecologically-supportive way, ideas for personal health, and strategies for impactful community interactions. The morning will be focused on physical site design, considerations for growing operations, and land use. We will tour Bellfound Farm with co-founder Alena Jones, and Rhonda Baird of Sheltering Hills Design. We will use the farm as a platform to build an understanding of what all informs the “physical container” for projects. We’ll learn tools for reading a landscape – incorporating ecological principles, production methods, and social interactions with healthy soil and healthy plants in mind. We’ll envision options for land transformation and land use through permaculture-inspired actions.
