Dr. Karla Wilke Cow/Calf Specialist covers limit-feeding dry matter to reduce feed costs while meeting nutrient requirements. She describes how to limit feed dry pregnant cows as well as how to estimate feed needs for lactation and the nursing calf. Lose pasture that you have rented in the past or facing low forage production due to drought? If done right, feeding cows in drylot can be an economical way to maintain your herd.
