Description:
Jerry and JoAnne Kramer's farm in Black Hawk County Iowa personifies the importance of understanding your farm as an owner, even if you aren't the farm operator. Despite having their field averaging a Corn Suitability Rating of 90, they identified an area of concern with soil erosion and sought a conservation practice to fix the problem. In 2015 they collaborated with the Tallgrass Prairie Center to install two prairie strips horizontally across the field to intercept the water flowing across the field.
