Description:
Snap or green beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) are a popular summer, garden vegetable grown throughout West Virginia and Central Appalachia for their flavor, canning quality and high marketable yields. Snap beans are highly nutritious containing abundant dietary fiber and Vitamin C. As a group. snap beans include bush beans, half-runner beans and pole beans. This publication gives an overview of production of the trellis-supported vine-grown varieties of the crop.
