Description:
Carduus nutans, also known as musk thistle or nodding thistle, is a biennial thistle species first brought to North America in the 1800s from Europe. In this video we will discuss this invasive thistle, identification, control methods, and the current best classical biological control agent for use against musk thistle, Trichosirocalus horridus, the thistle rosette weevil. Topics will include regulation, identification, collection, sorting, release and what to expect from this biological control.
