Description:
Introduced to North America likely in the early 1900s, Tribulus terrestris, also known as puncturevine, caltrops or goatheads, is an annual weed native to Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe. In this video we will discuss this pesky invasive weed, control methods, and the current best classical biological control agents for use against puncturevine, Microlarinus lypriformis and Microlarinus lareynii, the puncturevine stem and seed weevils. Topics will include identification, collection, sorting, release and what to expect from biological control.
