Description:
A five-station field investigation that teaches participants to identify visible clues of soil health in the landscape. Participants examine ground cover, living roots, soil structure, biological activity, and signs of water movement, then use their observations as evidence to interpret how the soil is functioning and how soil health connects to infiltration, erosion, conservation practices, and water quality.
