The Small Flock Poultry Fundamentals for Extension and Veterinary Professionals webinar series is an eight-session professional development program designed to build confidence and practical knowledge among professionals working with small flock clientele. The series provides a foundation in poultry biology, housing, nutrition, welfare, disease recognition, biosecurity, food safety, and reportable diseases while strengthening participants' ability to effectively communicate with and support diverse poultry owners. Session #2: Poultry Biology for Non-Specialists - Develop a foundational understanding of poultry anatomy, physiology, behavior, and species differences to better interpret client concerns and support informed recommendations. This session also reviews normal production expectations and life-stage considerations across common poultry species.
