Description:
A 5-part discussion-based production education program was formed through this grant targeting beef cattle producers. The purpose of the discussion groups was to use a combination of in-classroom and on-farm experiences to highlight sustainable management practices related to forages, water, climate, and economics/marketing. Groups met together five times over the course of several production seasons. The original pilot discussion group was started in North Central Alabama in fall 2017 through spring 2018. A statewide effort to launch this program began in fall 2018, with three active discussion groups formed around the state.
