Description:
Purdue University's Shalamar Armstrong has been investigating the feasibility and performance of multiple winter hardy clover varieties across a range of hardiness zones of NC region (from southern IN to northern IA) using planting date and cropping systems as critical treatment variables. The study has potential to increase cover crop adoption by equipping NCR farmers with data and advanced management that maintain cash crop yield, absorb adoption cost, while reducing nutrient inputs and environmental losses. This video is their presentation at the 2026 Indiana Small Farms Conference.
