Description:
A field-based infiltration investigation in which participants use soil infiltration rings to measure how quickly water enters the soil. The lesson connects infiltration rates to soil structure, roots, biological activity, compaction, land management, runoff, erosion, groundwater recharge, and water availability for crops.
