Amarachi Norah Ochonye is a graduate student in Plant Science at South Dakota State University, where she is conducting research on sustainable crop production and nitrogen management in corn. She works as a Graduate Research Assistant and has experience in both field and greenhouse research, including evaluating biological products, soil nutrient dynamics, and crop performance under different management systems.

Before beginning her graduate studies in the United States, Norah earned a bachelor’s degree in Plant Science and Biotechnology and gained practical agricultural experience through farming and working directly with local growers. She has managed her own corn and poultry farm and has firsthand knowledge of the challenges farmers face, especially in areas with limited access to improved inputs and modern technologies.
