About
Britt Hopper (BEe Hopper) in 2012 he was asked to build an all glass bee hive for Wichita's Great Plains Nature Center. He knew nothing about bees so he began to study. In 2013 he started beekeeping. He spoke at the state fair to school children and many others. One day at the state fair a young teacher from Ortiz Elementary approached the Kansas Honey Association and asked if there was anyone that would come to her little school and talk about bees. There's no money to pay anyone. But would someone educate about the honeybee? she said talking to BEe Hopper. He replied Yes Ill be glad to do it.
BEe Hopper has been there at that school ever since that first meeting. Educating children and adults became his passion. His third year he went back to Ortiz Elementary. His teacher friend was not there. He told the children about the honeybee. As he was packing up to leave another teacher approached him to say. Your favorite teacher here at Ortiz lost her battle with breast cancer. He was crushed. So it has been his mission to carry on her request to just come teach about the honeybee to anyone. She motivated him in seeing a need to fulfill. Every one in his mind needs to know the importance of the pollinators especially, the Honeybee.
