Current Assignment:
Extension Agent, Extension Professor, Preston County, Kingwood, WV. Responsible for conducting Extension Education programs in the area(s) of agricultural production and marketing and community development for youths (including youth development) and adults in Preston County and other areas which may include a variety of cross-county/multi-county and/or cluster including teaching, research and service. Conveys research and disseminates knowledge; conducts applied research, needs assessments, program evaluation; provides service to the university and pursues a program of professional development; performs associated duties required to assist in organization efficiency, goals, and mission, and performs other duties as required. Research responsibilities are to collaborate on applied and demonstration type projects and publish reports as popular press articles (newspapers and magazines), university fact sheets (web site), and professional society abstracts.
Previous Research Assignments:
Served as Research Scientist, Department of Dairy Science, Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, and U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center, Ohio Cluster, USDA-ARS, Wooster, Ohio. Provided technical leadership for basic and applied research contributing to the general mission of the Dairy Science Department and USDA, a part of which is to more fully utilize the large forage producing potentials of Ohio and the northern United States. Fully responsible for obtaining funding, selecting projects, planning and executing research on effects of natural and induced chemical and microbial changes that occur during the preservation and storage of forage crops on the nutritional value of those forages for high producing dairy cows.
