About
Dr. Blubaugh is an insect ecologist and local vegetable enthusiast. She strives to understand how and where biodiversity among insects, plants, and soil microbes might strengthen crop protection. With deep respect for the challenging work of diversified production, she prioritizes farmer perspectives in the development and execution of her research, and always make profound discoveries and connections while sampling on-farm. She has recently moved to the University of Illinois to join a group of scholars that share her mission to develop and support decentralized, equitable, and regenerative food systems through collaborative research and education. Here, she's carved a space to invest curiosity and relentless effort as an advocate for small farmers.
