About
Dan Macon has served as livestock and natural resources advisor for the University of California Cooperative Extension in Placer, Nevada, Sutter, and Yuba Counties since 2017. Prior to serving in this role, Dan was an assistant specialist in rangeland management at UC Davis. He has also worked as the beef herdsman at the UC Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center in Browns Valley, CA. Dan and his family operate a small-scale commercial sheep operation near Auburn, CA. Dan holds a master's degree in integrated resource management from Colorado State University and a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from UC Davis.
