About
Mark Quee has been at Scattergood Friends School for 21 years, teaching Humanities classes and working on the Farm. Since 2003 he has been the Farm Manager and has helped Scattergood integrate its organic vegetable farm and livestock production with the daily lives of students. The school is now the primary market for the farm, but in the past Scattergood Farm has marketed to stores, restaurants, through a CSA and at farmers' markets. Mark has served on the boards of Practical Farmers of Iowa and Field to Family, has presented at the PFI annual conference, the PFI cooperators meeting, at the Iowa Valley RC&D, Friends General Conference, the NCR-SARE Farmer Forum and National Small Farm Conference, and has hosted webinars on cover cropping in organic vegetable systems and small-scale organic vegetable production. Mark will receive PFI Master Researcher recognition in December 2019 and works hard to build networks and maintain relationships with farmers and consumers in his area.
