About
Garrett Hilpipre is a beginning farmer transitioning his family’s long-standing row-crop farm in Wright County, Iowa into a diversified agroforestry system. He brings a blend of practical experience and formal training to this work, shaped by 27 months of Peace Corps service in Madagascar as an Agroforestry Extension Agent, where he led community trainings, reforestation efforts, and ecotourism projects. He completed the University of Missouri’s Agroforestry Training Academy and participates in the Savanna Institute’s Technical Assistance Program to further develop his skills in perennial agriculture. Garrett also has experience in non-profit management and values community engagement, which inform his approach to stewardship and sustainable farming.
