About
Dr. Asbjornsen is an ecosystem ecologist with research interests focused on understanding the effects of climate and land use change on the water cycle and how plant-water interactions affect productivity and ecosystem service provisioning in diverse forest, agroforest, and agricultural systems. An important component of Dr. Asbjornsen’s research program involves transferring information about ecological processes across scales -- from the individual leaf or whole tree to the ecosystem, watershed, and landscape. She utilizes a variety of approaches and tools to address these questions, including stable isotopes of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen, plant ecophysiological measurements, long-term monitoring of ecosystem processes, micrometeorology, and modeling.
