About
Jennifer has a B.S. Degree in Agronomy and Soil Sciences from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, M.S. Degree in Agronomy- Crop Production and Physiology from Iowa State University, and a PhD in Vocational and Technical Education- Teaching and Learning from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). She is associate professor at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. At Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University she created and implemented the StateWide Small Farm Program, a participatory capacity building program that works to build capacity with underserved small farm populations and their communities in identified areas including organic farming systems, agroecology farming practices, the benefits of organic agriculture, and sustainable living, etc.
Jennifer is the International Federation of Organic Agricultural Movements North America (IFOAM NA) co-president and has served on the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) as chair of the NOSB Materials Committee, ad-hoc GMO sub- committee, and on the Policy Committee. Jennifer is Vice President of the Organic Farmers Association and organic farmer Board Member, serves on the Rodale Institute Board of Directors, Standards Board for the Real Organic Project, advisor to the Agricultural Justice Project and the National Organic Coalition.
Jennifer Taylor is a certified organic farmer in rural Georgia. At her organic small-scale BIPOC farm she and her husband grow organic vegetables and fruits, and cover crops and provide information and hands-on trainings on the principles of organic agriculture, organic farming systems, and organic agriculture to Black indigenous farmers and farmers of color and their communities, small farmers, and surrounding communities.
