Sunset Berry Farm opened it's doors in 2010 as a small patch of berries and a few rows of sweet corn to help the family pay the mortgage. The strawberries and sweet corn were received with excitement by the friends and neighbors who committed every Saturday morning to stopping by the farmer's market for berries and corn. The farm has doubled production each year and still falls short in it's effort to supply the local demand for berries and sweet corn. The unlimited market for local berries became obvious, worthy of attention and research to increase availability to consumers and maximize the potential of strawberries as a viable source of farm income for West Virginia producers. Sunset Berry Farm now actively produces 2 acres of strawberries and 3 acres of sweet corn, selling these products in CSA Farm Shares, grocery stores, farm to school, "u pick", fundraisers and farmer's markets.
