About
Dr. Hoagland is a Professor and Soil Microbial Ecologist in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Purdue University. She leads a large research program aimed at identifying practical approaches to improve the productivity, quality and safety of specialty crops. She currently teaches the following courses: Urban Agriculture, The Plant Microbiome, and Sustainable Agricultural Development in Colombia. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Colombia, and is currently the Co-Director and lead PI of the Arequipa NEXUS Institute, a large research initiative supporting the development of sustainable agriculture and natural resource management in Peru.
