Xingchen Liu is a Ph.D. Candidate from the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at the University of Maryland (UMD). Her research focuses on the association between human pathogens, especially Salmonella and fresh produce such as lettuce and kale. She is one of the UMD Global STEWARDS, funded by the National Science Foundation Research Traineeship (NRT) program. She got her master's in Food Engineering at China Agricultural University.
