His Extension responsibilities included, among many initiatives, assessing the feasibility of geothermal heat for schools, serving as a team member of the Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN), facilitating programs addressing the economic impact of thinning forests in collaboration with the US Forest Service in Southwestern Colorado, and assisting county commissioners in strategic planning and economic development. Bill now serves as a Professional Development Coordinator for Colorado Western SARE (Sustainable Agriculture, Research and Education Program). He also has responsibilities in CSU Extension for coordinating program development for Community Development professionals, providing funding support for community and economic development through agent training and involvement.
