About
Dr. Xinhua Jia earned her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Florida. She is a Full Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at North Dakota State University. Dr. Jia teaches courses in natural resource management systems, drainage engineering, wetland design, and controlled environment agriculture. Her research focuses on irrigation, drainage, and agricultural water management, with an emphasis on smart water management for specialty crops across indoor systems, high tunnels, greenhouses, and open-field environments. Her most recent work explores the co-location of farm parks with data centers to utilize waste heat for sustainable food production.
