Summary:
Reconnecting American Indians to the land and to native diets is an important step in restoring health, pride and self reliance.
Objective: To encourage American Indians to start gardens using native crop varieties.
The producer established gardens with American Indian crops and help local colleges, extension offices, radio stations and community groups to conduct field trips to educate American Indians on the value of indigenous crops.
Results: The project was delayed due to weather-related problems and was extended for one year.
