Project Information

Summary:

Since the completion of the 2012 annual report for this project, which detailed the pilot implementation of the first version of A Day at Sunrock Farm, I continued to develop the second version of the book. In January 2014 I met with Sunrock Farm’s director of education to discuss the future of the book and the remaining SARE grant funds for this project. She indicated that she would like to use the remaining distributed funds to print copies of the book for distribution to visiting teachers.

This project has also inspired Sunrock’s education staff to create supplementary worksheets for visiting students. The funds that will be distributed upon the completion of this project will be used to develop these resources.

The education director sought feedback from Sunrock staff before the final printing. Changes that came from this feedback were primarily wording and content in the “Did you know” portion of each page. After final tweaks, I ordered 400 copies of the book, which are currently being distributed to visiting teachers through Sunrock Farm.

The impact of this project is better detailed in the 2012 annual report, as this was when the period assessing the effect of the book and gathering feedback took place.
