Project Information

Summary:

The purpose of this project is to compost manure from our farm animals and household garbage. I would like to buy a good quality composter and start composting immediately. When the weather is good, I will plant my garden in two locations, and one location I will use compost to help my soil. The other location will be just as it was last year. I will water my garden plots equally so that water will not be an issue. I can then evaluate how my garden is different by weighing and measuring what I harvest. I will keep a journal on quantity and quality of the products I harvest. Both plots will have the same plant and amount of plants planted, so I have eliminated much variability. I use my grandpa's tiller to mix the soil well, so the composted soil will be mixed in as well as the non-composted plot.
