    Project objectives from proposal:

The overarching goal of this project is to provide education for stakeholders by teaching hands-on sustainable, best management practices for modern commercial apiary production. This goal will be achieved through the completion of our major objectives:

    1. Development and Establishment of an Adaptive Educational Apiary
    2. Installation of Educational Pollinator Habitat Demonstrations, focusing on Appalachian trees and flora such as basswood, sourwood, witch hazel, and wildflowers
    3. Beginning Beekeeper Workshop Series (8-part Series, taught twice: 2023-2024 and 2024-2025
    4. Advanced Beekeeping Lecture Series (5-part Series, taught once as a follow up for Series I participants, 2024-2025).
    5. Appalachian Pollinator Health Workshop, capstone workshop to share the results of the project.
