Retail Ready - Wholesale Ready
Summary
The project advisory group developed a 2012 Ohio curriculum for this project, based on the MarketReady program. It’s been expanded to include direct to consumer channels, as well as wholesale channels. This version of the program was used to educator 45 professionals in 2012, including a group from Purdue who then adapted the curriculum for producer workshops in Indiana. Based on the lessons learned from 2011 and 2012, online components will be added and final project evaluation will be conducted in the first quarter of 2013.
Objectives/Performance Targets
- During the second year, an advisory group of 12 professionals continued guiding program development. This group met for a full-day MarketReady training and planning session, as well as annual networking session.
Through 5 full day events, 45 professionals participated in professional development workshops.
The project team continued with program evaluations and began to develop the online components of the project.
Accomplishments/Milestones
185 people visited the project website, go.osu.edu/MarketReady. The online portion of this project is still under development and will be finalized in the first quarter of 2013.
Impacts and Contributions/Outcomes
A post-workshop survey was conducted, with more than 92% of participants reporting improved attitude and motivation (to work with producers exploring various direct marketing channels) and improved awareness and knowledge (of direct marketing channels and the resources).
