BEHAVE Facilitator's Network

Summary

We completed a rough draft of the BEHAVE Facilitators handbook and sent it out for review to the state facilitators.

We held our state facilitators training on October 4-6 at Utah State University in Logan,UT. At the training we trained ten state directors who will coordinate activities in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming
(2), Arizona, and Colorado, and one International Director, Demetrio Vasquez from California, who will be sharing the information with folks in Mexico and South America. Our Nevada State Director was unable to attend but since we have done a lot of training in Nevada as part of other
programs, we will be helping him catch up by coordinating with him and other extension agents on some upcoming presentations in Elko.

At the October training, we reviewed the handbook, videos, and slide shows with facilitators. Kathy Voth and Beth Burritt presented an example of a training workshop and asked for comments and suggestions from the state facilitators.

Most facilitators decided to work in teams and state trainings are planned for spring of 2006.
