Training in Marine Ornamental Farming for Extension Professionals in Micronesia
Summary
The contract for this project was signed on September 22nd, 2011, so work to date is minimal. Planning is underway for the a marine ornamental workshop to be held in Pohnpei in March of 2012. The other activities in this project will take place later in 2012 so no planning is underway yet.
Objectives/Performance Targets
a. One week training for aquaculture professionals and producers at MERIP in Pohnpei.
Progress to date:
• Participants for the workshop have been identified and contacted.
• Dates for the workshop have been set for March 3-9.
• Some materials and supplies have been ordered for the workshop
b. Study tour for 3 MERIP personnel to Majuro and Kosrae to visit existing facilities
Progress to date:
• No work has been done on this activity as it will take place later in 2012
c. Study tour for one individual to the Marine Aquarium Conference of North America
