Advantages and disadvantages on an organic corn crop from 25 tons of cattle manure per acre
Summary
WORK ACTIVITIES
My project was approved after the 2009 season started, so I will do the project during the 2010 season. I plan to have manure spread this fall/winter. February 2009 we had around 16 tons of cattle manure spread across the entire field. When manure is spread this fall/winter, we will leave strips without manure as described in the project, I’ll request grant funds at that time. Kent Bean with Extension in McCook has taken another job, but we will continue to work with Ron Seymour in Adams County Extension and Darwin Hinnichs with NRCS in Hitchcock County as described in the project.
