    Proposal summary:

Goats will be grazed on two test plots. One is infested with young buckthorn. In the second plot, the goats will graze stems re-sprouting from stumps of mature buckthorn that will be felled in Spring '09. Study goals: When are the goats best introduced to manage buckthorn? How long will buckthorn thickets need to be grazed for eradication and ecological restoration? To what extent will buckthorn need to be grazed for ecological restoration?
