    Proposal summary:

Sheep production is a widely accepted ingredient in sustainable agriculture, but producers' efforts to develop group marketing systems are undermined by the absence of alternative offal disposal/utilization technologies.

Solving this problem will help enable successful initiatives in mid-scale and cooperative marketing.

    Project objectives from proposal:

Funds provided by this grant would be combined with donated funds and in-kind contributions to support a thorough investigation of current knowledge and experience of animal waste composting, and also develop a feasible system of sheep offal disposal/utilization through composting.
