Objectives: 1) To boost family farm incomes by direct-marketing poultry and vegetables, 2) to help a community women's group develop self-esteem and leadership skills, and 3) to encourage youth involvement in agriculture.

The producer raised market broilers and laying hens in a free-range poultry production method. She bought grass and legume seed to establish good grazing pastures and labor-saving waters and feeders.

Results: The producer sold 2,300 three to four-pound broilers for $1.90 to $2.20 per pound, whole or cut-up.
