    Proposal summary:

New silage tubers start at about $10,000. The farmer, who has an engineering background, will develop a design for a simple farm-built silage tuber and offer the design and construction guidelines to other farmers so they can either build the equipment or hire a welder to build one for them. He will have a prototype silage tuber for demonstration and product development, and he will invite other farmers to his farm to see it. He will also work with extension to disseminate his results.
