    Proposal summary:

The farmer has been exploring alternative, local feeds for livestock production, and the result has been a 20 percent drop in feed costs on his sheep farm. He will identify other sources of alternate feed, gather data on price and availability, test for nutritive value, and work with a consultant to determine how each feed might meet the needs of different kinds of livestock. The results of the project will be integrated into a workshop, be posted to his web site, and offered at producer meetings.
