Food for Thought

Summary

Consumers often know very little about farming, how to find locally produced food, or how to how to identify sustainable production. The goal of this project is to bridge the gap between the farmer and the consumer through a series of winter workshops for civic groups, church organizations, health organizations, and other community groups. The workshop will use graphics, photographs, and economic information to help consumers understand their alternatives and find sustainable sources of nutrition. A CD-ROM and paper copies of the presentation will be made available to other farmers so they can replicate the workshops in their communities.
