    Proposal summary:

Disease-resistant apples are available in the nursery trade, but many growers are hesitant to plant them due to little public information concerning their eating and cooking qualities. This project will evaluate 44 commercial, disease-resistant, and heirloom apple varieties to quantify their suitability for fresh eating, baking, fresh slices, drying, and juicing. Outreach will be through articles, presentations, and newsletters.
