    Proposal summary:

    Janice Blomgren, along with two other Hudson Valley growers, will evaluate permanent bed vegetable production systems as a way of protecting soils from deterioration due to excessive tillage and compaction. The project will first identify mulches, tillage systems and crop rotations applicable to permanent bed culture. Future efforts will focus on soil management and fertigation.
