Proposal summary:

I would like to use the results of previous SARE funded research through a SEED grant for Apple Pest (insect and disease) control on my orchards here in Central New York. My proposed program would involve the use of weather and insect models, pheromone and physical traps, targeted sprays, beneficial insect releases and orchard management to further reduce crop damage in our orchards. While we are currently using many of these techniques, those in use have been developed through trial and error over the past 13 years and may not be the best available practices developed through SARE research efforts.
