Controlling the Banana Scab Moth Caterpillar in American Samoa Through Cultural Methods

Summary

This project plans to test a cultural method for controlling one of the serious pests of bananas in American Samoa, the scab moth caterpillar. The method involves adopting a vigilant program of spreading the brachts of the banana flower soon after the flower bends down from its 'pointing up' position. The method would be an alternative for the use of pesticides and save money as well.
