Weed Control in Organic Apple Orchard

Summary

Weed control looks to be the most challenging problem in organic orchards. Not being allowed to use herbicides in organic orchards leaves few options other than hand hoeing, which is very labor intensive. The aim of this study is to test the efficiency and effectiveness of a modified grape hoe for the control of weeds in the tree rows of an organic orchard.
